Green Tip of the Month - May 2012: When replacing that burned out light, look for lights that are ENERGY STAR rated. The EPA estimates that if every American home replaced just ONE light with a light that’s earned ENERGY STAR, we would save enough energy to light 3 million homes for a year; save about $600 million in annual energy costs; and, prevent 9 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions annually, which is the equivalent of 800,000 cars off the road! For an even greater impact, remember to turn that light off when you don’t need it! (Please be advised this alert will end on May 31, 2012)
